28th Annual Galesburg Days

Galesburg, Kansas - Neosho County

Herman and Corenne (Magner) Simmons, son Larry Dean Simmons and his wife, Beverly J. (Moore) met my husband and myself for breakfast at the church.  Larry and Susan (in this photo) originally met in person when I met his mother, Corenne in Erie, Kansas in October  2011.

Samuel and Etta (Boje) Magner had a son named Ralph Jerald Magner.  He married Dica Belle Brooke and they were blessed with four children.

Ralph and Dica's oldest child, a daughter named Corenne Dica Magner.  She grew up and married Herman Cecil Simmons and they too were blessed with four children.

Herman Cecil Simmons's parents are Ralph Lee Simmons and Cena D. Gown.  They were blessed with eight children.  Herman Cecil Simmons and Thomas E. "Tom" Simmons were brothers.

Thomas E. Simmons married Dorothy Laverne Hopeman and they were blessed with six children.  One of which is Lucille Simmons Janssen, a dear lady I met and has helped me in finding my ancestors in SE Kansas.

28th Annual Galesburg Days
Galesburg, Kansas - Neosho County

One of the gifts or surprises of working on family genealogy is that you get to meet relatives that you have never met before.  In October 2016, I met Lucille (Simmons) Janssen by telephone.  She was so kind to help me gain information about some of my Magner Ancestors.  We emailed back and forth for one year and then finally met in person at the 2017 Galesburg Days Event.
