GALESBURG - Albert L. Magner, 70, a life-time resident of the Galesburg community, died at 2:10 a.m. in the Labette County Medical Center in Parsons following an illness of three months.

The family home is three and 1/4 miles southeast of Galesburg.  Magner was born July 20, 1901, at Galesburg, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel B. Magner.  He was married to Jennie Gager on July 7, 1923 in Girard, Kansas.  She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters; Mrs. Roy Hanks, Grandview, MO., and Mrs. M. L. Caldwell, Pittsburg, KS.; four sons, Albert Magner, Topeka, KS; Irvin L. Magner, Chanute, KS; Elford N. Magner, Albert Lea, MN., and Lyle T. Magner, Liberal, KS.; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and two sisters, Audlene Springer of Galesburg, KS and Mrs. Fred Clark of Seattle, WA.  One brother, Ralph, preceded him in death.

Magner was a member of the Galesburg Christian Church.  In recent years he had attended the Parsons Church of Christ.  He drove a Galesburg school bus for 19 years before retiring in 1966.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Galesburg Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. Allen Hannaford and Mr. Frank Scheurich.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery here under the direction of the Pierce Funeral Home in Erie, Kansas.
