Lelia Margaret Dunham
Special to The SunERIE - Mrs. Lelia Dunham, 87, of Stark (Kansas) died at 5 a.m. today at the Bryant Rest Home in Chanute (Kansas) following an illness of about six months. She had been critical since entering the rest home three weeks ago.
The former Lelia M. Magner, she was born to Mr. and Mrs. Lanville M. Magner in Orange County, Indiana. The family moved to Kansas, settling near Chanute, when she was four years old. Later they moved to Galesburg.
On December 25, 1900 she was married to Henry E. Dunham at Galesburg, Kansas. The couple lived in Galesburg before moving to Stark in January 1918. Dunham died November 6, 1942.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Rolla Miller, Baldwin, Kansas; four sons, Hollis E. Dunham, Erie, Kansas; O.M. Dunham, Walnut, Kansas; Dr. Howard Dunham, Wabash, Indiana; Max Dunham, Neosho, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Three sons preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Stark Methodist Church and a charter member of the WSCS of that church.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Stark Methodist Church with the Rev. Wayne Newlin officiating. Burial will be in Huff Cemetery under direction of the Pierce Funeral Home in Stark, Kansas.
