My dad's cousin, Burnill Clark gave me contact information about Neola in 2011.  We shared some emails after I asked her about memories she had about growing up in Galesburg.

July 26, 2011 - I do not remember a lot about my Grandfather, Samuel Magner, but one distinct memory I have is when he would bring my Grandmother Etta Mae Magner to our country farm house.  He was always very impatient when he would come back to pick her up.  Usually he would go each morning to Uncle Albert's house just down the road from us as it had been his farm and would drop off Grandmother at our house.  He would return each afternoon and take her home. When he returned and got just south of our house, he would start honking and she was to be at the mailbox when he got there.

I have more memories of Aunt Jennie, Uncle Albert's wife. She and Uncle Albert lived on a farm about 2 miles west of us, back towards Galesburg.  I remember Jennie as a very happy person.

I also have memories of my cousin- your Aunt Luretta.  Luretta would ride a horse to our house and then ride to school with us in the car. She was just a little older than me I think. Sometimes we would ride the pony and sometimes our bikes, but usually Dad took us.

Another memory I have about being in school was driving our Model-T car to the school festival in Erie, Kansas. It was fairly warm so Mother and I left our new spring coats in the car. We went to the carnival and came back and someone had stolen our coats. This was probably in the late 1930s and it was often that cars were stolen and stripped for parts.

My favorite memory of the festival was winding the May Pole. I don't think we ever won but it was always great fun to learn how to do it just so.
