You, O God, have been our refuge and strength from generation to generation.
You, O Christ, are our hope and salvation; in you, death has been swallowed up in victory, and we have an inheritance which is imperishable and unfading.
Alleluia!  The Lord God Almighty reigns.  Let us rejoice, and give thanks to God for the victory.

Almighty and Eternal God, You who love us with an everlasting love and have continued faithful to us through all our days, help us now to wait upon You with reverent and open hearts, that through patience, hymns and scripture, we may have our hope and faith strengthened and be lifted above our sorrow into the light and peace of your presence.  Amen
