Wife: Etta Mae (BOJE) GRANDPARENTS CAME TO AMERICA


Etta's grandparents, Joach and Dorothea FRITZ departed Hamburg, Germany on May 2, 1857 for America.  The family arrived safely in New York, New York on June 15, 1857 after their six week voyage on the sailing ship named, the Union. 

The passenger information states that Joach was 32 years old and a farmer arriving from Germany.  He traveled with his wife, Dorothea (age 30) and their five children eventually settling in Ottawa, Illinois. 
  
Samuel Brown Magner's wife, Etta's mother, Elvina was one of their five Fritz children who sailed on the Union.  Etta's mother, Elvina was nine years old when she came to this country.
